CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Welcome to the Call for Abstracts for NANT 17
Presented by the National Association of Neonatal Therapists (NANT)
Conference Dates:
Main Conference: April 9-10, 2027
Pre-Conference: April 8, 2027
Location: Orlando, Florida, USA
The NANT 17 theme, Connection Heals, reflects a truth we witness every day in neonatal care: babies require human connection to heal, grow, and develop.
Connection is foundational to development. It’s the connection between babies and parents. It’s the connection with caregivers and professionals who recognize and respond to their cues. It’s the connection to environments that support physiologic stability, neurodevelopment, and healing. Science continues to affirm what we know in practice — nurturing relationships shape brain development, strengthen immune function, improve outcomes, and support healthier developmental trajectories.
As neonatal therapists, we understand that healing extends beyond medical intervention. Of all the powerful influences in the NICU, a parent’s love and presence remain the most profound force supporting the developing brain.
Implementing this theme in real life means honoring both types of moments: the tender and the urgent. It means creating space for families to bond while expertly navigating the complexities of the neonatal intensive care unit. It means remembering that time, presence, and touch are powerful tools in healing, attachment and growth which are critical to long term development.
And as neonatal professionals, we need connection too.
In a field that can at times feel emotionally, professionally, or geographically isolating, our relationships with each other matter deeply. Collaboration across disciplines strengthens our care, advances our science, and sustains us as professionals.
At NANT 17, we invite presentations that explore how connection transforms outcomes for infants, families, and healthcare teams. We welcome research, quality improvement projects, innovative clinical initiatives, and exemplary interdisciplinary collaborations demonstrating the healing power of connection.
Sharing your valuable work at NANT 17 presents an opportunity to inspire collaboration, elevate practice, and strengthen outcomes for babies and families worldwide.
We invite you to submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation at NANT 17.
Best regards,
*NANT 17 is scheduled to be held in-person. However, in the unlikely event in-person restriction occur, the event will be hosted online including all accepted sessions/posters.
